"Pingception"

Sorry I'm late. So is Ping because my emo stencil of the day is a representation of my favorite forgotten biblical story, the Pingmaculate Conception.

Cheers friends! See you next time (before midnight)

"Mango Blood Pump" - Day 6

Today's challenge was to work with the first fruit or vegetable we saw this morning, regardless of its current state; whether its frozen, chilling, or heck, even canned. We'll see how today rolls. Happy edible artwork day!

"Cards in Bloom" - Day 5

Today's challenge was to work with a collection of mine and create something with or inspired by that. Unfortunately, I am in Washington DC on business, so my ticket stub collection was out. I did realize, however, that I have an awful lot of cards; debit card, library card, preferred savings card, security badges for work, etc.. hence the evolution of the idea based on necessity too!
Cheers!

Challenge Criteria:
Work with a collection of yours (in my case, plastic cards)

Medium: Security badges and lanyard, credit cards, library cards, insurance cards, etc...

"4.i.o.u." - Day 4

It hasn't even been a week, and already I feel I have failed this project. Work took everything out of me today, and I have to wake up in 3 hours and fly to DC to do it all over again.

The original challenge for #4 was to walk somewhere 5 minutes away, and create using the materials around me. Too dark, too late, but I love the idea and will do it sometime soon as a bonus day.

Creative booster idea # 4, "I owe you".

G'night folks.

Title: "4.i.o.u."
Challenge Criteria:
Skipped; so I created an "I owe you" card instead.
Medium:
Newspaper clippings, scrabble tile pendants, playing card and thin red crinkle paper strips.

"Man's Best" - Day 3

Another day, another chance to push this until absolutely the last minute and crank out a silly Dancing Washington dollar man. I also tried making a hand throwing the horns, and I have already learned that I need to get better at paper folding crafts. Cheers!

Title: "Man's Best" & "4 Dollar Horns"
Challenge Criteria:
Create with only non-cut, colored or drawn on paper.
Medium:
USD bills

"Friend's Best" - Day 2

Today's suggestion was to create based on our favorite animal, and I couldn't think of any better than the family companion Mr Shaggy Dog Tregler. Cheers :)

Title: "

Challenge Criteria:
Inspired by my favorite animal
Medium: Newspaper, pencil and spray paint on drawing paper. Layered BG applied in Photoshop.

"Fresh Starts for Stapled Hearts" - Day 1

Today begins the start of my yearlong creative project, an emo. a day. This effort was inspired by great conversation and gifted to me by someone incredible <3. I will be creating a daily piece of artwork guided by 365: A Daily Creativity Journal by Noah Scalin and documenting it here, even if it kills me.

For years I have been talking about how I need to start being creative again. And when my heart would swell in the right direction, I was able to take on large projects in record time, crafting calendars, mix CD's, books worth of lyrics, tattoo designs, wall art, etc... with vigor and passion. In my daily life though, I've become a commuter, a cable monkey, an email machine; and on some days I'm a worn out corporate robot with an auto-reply where my heart ought to be. I know I've let so much of what makes me passionate slip away by not being so actively creative, and then I was issued a challenge in the form of a perfectly selected Christmas gift.

So I here I stand on the precipice of 2012, staring straight down the barrel of something I've never even hoped to attempt before, and I couldn't be more excited. Please feel free to follow, encourage, critique or ignore me as I undertake this attempt. [ We all know I love the attention anyway ;) ]
In the spirit of the emo-kid theme, I started with a simple idea for day 1. Cheers!
